According to Women’s Wear Daily, Kristen has been signed as the face of Balenciaga Scent!

Balenciaga will soon have its own place in the Twilight. The brand has signed actress Kristen Stewart as the face of the newest Balenciaga fragrance for women.

Stewart, best known for her role as Bella Swan in the blockbuster movie saga, will represent a to-be-announced scent which is expected to be launched this fall.

“Balenciaga has always stood out to me,” Stewart told WWD on Thursday. “Even when I first began to consider fashion and admittedly rarely knew the brand I was wearing, I always recognized and loved Balenciaga. It feels full circle to be involved with something that spoke to me then and of course continues to excite me now. The brand is just cool. That’s the way it is. I feel drawn to it. It provokes on a number of levels. It isn’t afraid or contrived. It hits a very cool balance, always. Always pretty undeniable.”

Balenciaga creative director Nicolas Ghesquière called Stewart the muse for the new scent. “Kristen embodies the modernity of the new Balenciaga fragrance with her unique sensibility and intelligence,” said Ghesquière. “From her early appearance in ‘Panic Room’ to her independent choice of ‘Welcome to the Rileys,’ I’ve always sensed her progressive character. In 2006, I invited her to appear in a project shot by Bruce Weber. Since then, I’ve always wished to collaborate with her further, knowing that she shares the radical spirit of Balenciaga.”

Added Isabelle Guichot, chief executive officer of Balenciaga: “Kristen is the perfect choice as she embodies Nicolas Ghesquière’s unique vision for the second chapter in our fragrance history.”

Charlotte Gainsbourg remains the face of Balenciaga Paris, the first scent from the house, which was launched in 2010.

“Kristen stood out as an evident choice for this new fragrance,” added Catherine Walsh, senior vice president of American fragrances for Coty Prestige, a division of Coty Inc. “She has a unique sense of style, quite original and chic in the way she mixes fashion elements. Her elegant modernity and innate rebel style perfectly match with the spirit of Balenciaga.”

Stewart noted that after a busy 2011, she’s taking a bit of time to relax. “My horizon is clear as of now (except for this!) in terms of new projects, which feels incredible,” she said. “I have finished three films I can’t wait to see come to fruition this year, ‘On The Road,’ ‘Snow White and the Huntsman,’ and ‘Breaking Dawn 2.’”

It’s no secret that we are very excited about Kristen Stewart’s first big non-”Twilight” movie, Movie Brawl 2012. We’re excited not only because Stewart is the star, but because she is playing an action-star version of Snow White and faces off against a very formidable Evil Queen in Charlize Theron.

The last time we caught up with Theron, she hadn’t yet filmed the big fight sequence with Stewart but admitted that she hoped her Evil Queen might get the best of Stewart’s Snow White. “I’m just really, really, really hoping I get to kill her,” she said with a smile. “That is how the story ends up, right?”

We’re pretty sure that isn’t how the story ends — especially since we happened to bump into Theron again at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards on Thursday (January 12), and she seemed to be changing her previous tune. When we asked the Oscar winner and Best Actress nominee for “Young Adult” if she’d filmed the epic fight sequence, she didn’t seem too keen to divulge any details.

“Yeah,” she admitted, “but I don’t want to talk about it.”

Why didn’t Theron want to talk about it? Did the fight not end in her favor?

“I don’t want to talk about it. No! No, it’s going to be a surprise,” she said, resisting our probing questions. “Dammit, I give you way too much. People have to pay money to go see the movie to see what happens.”

Theron finally relented a bit and revealed that Stewart’s Snow White does, indeed, kick some ass.

“She was a good fight,” Theron said. “She was a good fight. The bitch brought it! There you go. Now you have something.”

Kristen has been involved in some interesting news lately, namely the revelation that she and her Twilight Saga co-star Nikki Reed are “frenemies” – fake friends who really despise each other. The reason is, of course, the duo’s tug of love with Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson, who allegedly enjoyed a fling with Reed while hooked up with Stewart. Stewart and Pattinson were recently spotted enjoying a rock concert in London, so perhaps Reed’s impact wasn’t quite the destructive force she’s been made out to be. Meanwhile, Stewart is in the running for “Favorite Movie Actress” alongside tween sensation Selena Gomez and Emma Watson. Selena Gomez concerts are as popular as ever right now, following a successful 2011 that saw Selena play the Houston Rodeo, as well as some new tour dates lined up for 2012. Selena is believed to be the girl in Justin Bieber’s life these days but we all know how fast these things can change. The world of Tween concerts and TV shows is one that overlaps and gives us great actors and singers.
