While the greater cultural zeitgeist might be obsessed with all things Nicolandria and Amaya Papaya right now (and don’t get me wrong, I am too), true Love Island fans will know that there were episodes more drama-filled and all-around iconic than that of Love Island USA season six. So much so, that the cast of the most recent season is getting their own spin-off—Love Island: Beyond the Villa—because fans just can’t get enough. But, for our favorite horse girl and villa alum Leah Kateb, there’s more than just a new show on the horizon, as it was just announced that the 25-year-old reality TV star is stepping into the role of Chief Creative Officer at the viral clean fragrance brand, Skylar. Ahead, everything you need to know about the major rebrand.
Leah Kateb Steps Into New Role at Clean Fragrance Brand, Skylar
As soon as Kateb and her now long-time beau, Miguel Harichi, stepped out of the villa and back into real life, fans were swarming the Los Angeles native for all her beauty tips and tricks. You know when you can just tell someone smells good? Well, that was the feeling fans had for Kateb, and from the moment she revealed her everything shower routine, they knew they were right. Kateb shared her love of Skylar’s Vanilla Sky Hair and Body Mist ($30). Now, merely one year after leaving the Love Island USA villa, Kateb has been named the “refounder” of Skylar, stepping into the role of Chief Creative Officer at the brand—the first step in what is set to be a major makeover for the clean fragrance empire.
Kateb’s appointment to CCO is more than just a celebrity endorsement—it comes from a deep place of loyalty to the brand’s core values and marks the beginning of a total shift in how we see Skylar. “Vanilla Sky by Skylar was my secret weapon, warm, cozy, a little flirty,” Kateb began in a press release. “People always asked what I was wearing. I always knew I had a special connection to fragrance, but Skylar felt different. It felt clean, sexy and completely me. So when they called, it just made sense. Now I get to help reimagine a brand I genuinely love, from the inside out. We’re making Skylar bolder, more expressive and definitely a little hotter. This next era is personal and it’s going to smell so good.” In her new role, Kateb will work closely with the Skylar team to help develop new, innovative scents, redefine the brand image and guide the company into a whole new era, and we can’t wait to see what comes next.
