The Best New Fragrances to Try This Month
Henry Rose French Exit Eau de Parfum ($120)
This is not your grandmother’s floral fragrance. The brand describes this unisex, warm-floral scent as one that “feels both bright and contemplative.” It’s the perfect marriage of sexy and comfortable, and leans a bit more feminine.
“French Exit was inspired by Ile d’Oleron (Oleron Island) off the Atlantic coast of France,” says perfumer Pascal Gaurin. “The island, known for its fragrant dunes and sandy beaches, holds many of my most cherished family moments. I wanted the duality of a Lush Water Accord, conveyed through a natural Seaweed extract, with a salty, sun-kissed bouquet of tuberose and jasmine sambac to transport wearers to their own paradise.”
KEY NOTES
Top: Blackcurrant Bud, Pink Pepper, Lush Water Accord; Mid: Tuberose India, Jasmine Sambac, Sundrenched Petals; Base: Hawthorne, Driftwood, Skin Musk
Bottega Veneta Good Morning Midnight Eau de Parfum ($490)
A fun, playful fruity-floral unlike others, this is one of the three new fragrances in the brand’s “Mezzanotte” collection. According to the brand, it “captures a spirit of festivity and celebration, blending refined Thai oud with a sparkling surprise of wild strawberry.”
The Italian-made glass bottle is equally as beautiful and interesting as the scent, and “pays tribute to the centuries-long tradition of Murano glassblowing.” It rests on a base of Black Marquina marble, evoking “the walls, floors and facades of Venetian churches and palazzi.” Each element is truly a work of art.

Charlotte Tilbury Star Confidence Eau de Parfum ($150)
This warm-floral fragrance was created by IFF master perfumer Juliette Karaguezoglou, using emotion-boosting molecules to promote instant confidence. “I created a fragrance that would act as a booster of audacity—a little helper that could make you feel fearless and courageous,” she says. “In Star Confidence, the courage side of the creation is infused in a duo of pepper and a floral and bright jasmine. The daring side of the creation relies on woody and elegant nuances of oakmoss and patchouli.”
In clinical trials, 82 percent of participants agreed that the perfume enhanced feelings of confidence. “I always say, if you dare to dream it, dare to believe it and dare to do it, you can do anything, and my Star Confidence fragrance makes you feel limitless, like all your dreams are within reach!” says founder Charlotte Tilbury. “It’s an addictive and sophisticated fragrance that unleashes the life force within you! Darlings, it will make you feel like a star!” And of course, Celine Dion is the face of the campaign, because, why wouldn’t she be!

Homecourt Cece Perfume Oil ($46)
This highly concentrated perfume from actress Courtney Cox’s brand Homecourt comes in a travel-friendly rollerball. Infused with naturally derived botanical oils, it’s alcohol-free and has the perfect warm-and-cozy vibe for fall.
“Cece is my personal fragrance,” says Cox. “When you find the right mixture of scents, it speaks to you and I’ve worn this every day for years. When we launched Homecourt, Cece quickly became our best-seller in our home-care products, and is the scent that defines the brand. I start in the shower with the Body Wash, then I moisturize with our luxurious Body Butter. Next I spray the Body Mist to lock in the scent on my skin and clothes, and finish with the Perfume Oil, which I keep in my bag for touch-ups. It’s something you can continue to add throughout the day. It’s not overpowering, but it’s powerful in intimate settings.”
