In celebration of the 20th anniversary of The Jessica Simpson Collection, Jessica Simpson unveils Mystic Canyon Eau de Parfum today—her first fragrance launch in five years. A true trailblazer in the celebrity fragrance world, Simpson has evolved her brand into a powerhouse lifestyle empire, and this latest scent is a testament to her enduring influence and creative vision.

Inspired by her album Nashville CanyonMystic Canyon is an intimate reflection of the multi-hyphenate’s personal and artistic journey. Crafted for the modern woman who “leads with authenticity, confidence and a hint of wild spirit,” the amber-floral fragrance is a sensual blend of lush fruit, radiant florals and warm woods. It’s daring and bold, yet undeniably soft and feminine and, as Simpson herself describes it, “an olfactory ode to the woman she’s become.”

Did you ever think you would celebrate 20 years when you first launched your line?

“I don’t think I could have ever imagined that the Jessica Simpson Collection would turn 20 and have grown to be as wide reaching as it is. When we first launched fragrance, I was simply creating something that felt true to me, which is the way we have organically grown the collection since our early days. We now have more than 50 categories…we started with a cowboy boot and are about to launch furniture! Every category excites me, but I really do love working on fragrance. Certain fragrances can instantly shift my mood, transport me back in time, or spark inspiration and confidence. To know that people have connected with our scents for almost two decades, and that they’ve become part of their own core memories, is a powerful and romantically universal feeling of a collaborative celebration.”

What is your most favorite part of the fragrance process?

“The storytelling. Fragrance tells a story beyond words, the way music can, it connects straight to emotions. Every scent we make starts with a mood or a memory, and we build from there. Each note could remind me of a summer night in Texas, the thrill of a new love or the confidence of a victory. Translating those feelings into scent is such an intuitive, creative process. I love turning meaningful life moments into something people can carry with them.”

When it comes to finalizing a scent, what is most difficult?

“It is the high note—making sure it is not too overwhelming. The hardest part for me is not focusing on any specific detail.  Fragrance is really personal and it is more a gut instinct than a cerebral one. I have to allow myself to let go and sink into the alchemy of the feeling rather than analyzing it.”

What is your most favorite part of this new fragrance and what does the name mean?

“Mystic Canyon feels deeply personal to me, it’s a reflection of where I am now, as a woman, a mother and an artist. The name speaks to connection, honesty and coming home to yourself. This scent carries both warmth and strength. It is soft and rich but also grounded.”

This fragrance promises to be “part of your roots.” Why is that important to you and how do you honor your history today?

“My roots are everything to me. When I wrote my memoir, Open Book, I really discovered how much power there is and how much growth there can be in being honest with yourself about where you come from. I’m so proud of who I am and a huge piece of me is the values I was raised with and the people who have impacted me along the way.  I honor my roots in everything I do, but mostly in being true to myself and my purpose. There is no more important reflection of where I have been than to be 100 percent the woman I am becoming.”
