Recent data reveals major interest in muscle toning treatments, where tightening and conditioning muscles helps reveal more sculpted and cut figures. Though these treatments aren’t new, the aesthetic landscape of GLP-1 weight loss definitely is. With more and more people hitting their goal weight, it’s not surprising to see renewed interest in options that offer non-invasive contouring and muscle conditioning. And thanks to NewBeauty’s The State of Aesthetics Summer 2025 report, powered by the BeautyEngine platform, we have the unprecedented access to the beauty community’s most engaged users, allowing us to see the future of beauty trends before they take off.

Muscle Toning Is Gaining Interest
Over 67 percent of respondents indicated they were curious about or actively considering a muscle toning treatment. These treatments, like EmSculpt and CoolTone, offer a targeted approach to areas that are resistant to exercise. And since we know that GLP-1s can impact muscle mass, it makes sense to see an increase in interest surrounding toning treatments.
Obesity expert Dr. Spencer Nadolsky notes increasing protein intake and adding vitamin B12, iron, collagen, electrolytes and creatine to help preserve muscle mass, energy levels and skin elasticity. “Supplementing to fill these gaps will be critical for sustaining weight loss while maintaining overall health,” he says.
The Next Big Thing in Rejuvenation
“These technologies have allowed us to get more creative with spot-treating target areas more effectively,” says Delray Beach, FL dermatologist Janet Allenby, MD. “Strong pulses of magnetic energy penetrate the muscle layers and induce involuntary contractions that result in increased muscle strength, tone and firmness.” That increased tone helps combat the kind of volume loss that occurs with aging or significant weight loss.
“I think muscle toning treatments are an essential part of a comprehensive regenerative approach to facial and body rejuvenation,” adds Beverly Hills, CA dermatologist Ava Shamban, MD. “Part of the aging process is changes that involve not only the skin envelope and the fat pads, but also the ligaments and muscle and bony attachments. By using these more advanced technologies to strengthen and tighten muscles, we improve the overall tone of the skin as well as being able to reposition muscles in the face, particularly where they were 10 years prior. The addition of this technology has substantially contributed to our ability to optimize our results and facial rejuvenation as well as body rejuvenation.”
