Just one quick look at Nicole Kidman’s IMDB will convince you of her versatility as an actress, but we as beauty lovers know that the ever-ageless, Nine Perfect Strangers star is a chameleon when it comes to beauty looks, too. While Kidman has been rocking her blond hair in different cuts and styles for some time now, lovers of Kidman’s late ’90s and early 2000s on-screen escapades will be pleased to know that the Australian actress is going back to her roots for Practical Magic 2, and it seems her roots are retrograding too, as a sneak peek at the long-awaited sequel showcased Kidman with a nostalgic copper ‘do.

Kidman Swaps Blond Hair for Cowboy Copper Hue and Curtain Bangs

If you’re not familiar, the 1988 fantasy/comedy Practical Magic stars Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock as two young witches, Gilly and Sally Owens, navigating a pesky familial curse. And the two are joining forces once again for a much overdue sequel, Practical Magic 2, set to release in September 2026. We don’t know much yet about the witchy, whimsical remake, except that Kidman will be returning to her early aughts auburn for the role, as revealed through a sneak peek posted on her Instagram this week.

Giving us a first glimpse at Kidman and Bullock as the Owens sister circa 2025, Kidman shared a heartfelt clip of the two sharing a long hug. And after we got over our excitement that Practical Magic 2 was really on its way, we couldn’t take our eyes off Kidman’s new ‘do. Bidding adieu to her platinum blond strands, Kidman is seen on set sporting an updated take on her early 2000s ginger hue, rocking a warm, cowboy copper-esque shade and feathery curtain bangs, putting a modern, trendy spin on her nostalgic look.
