If you’ve ever dealt with breast cancer yourself or watched a loved one go through the difficult journey, you know the toll treatment can take. Earlier this summer, powerhouse vocalist Jessie J revealed she’s facing early-stage breast cancer, opting for a mastectomy as her first form of treatment. In a candid Instagram reel, the “Price Tag” singer revealed she’s facing a common post-treatment side effect, and she’s taking it in stride.
Jessie J Talks About Post-Surgery Hair Loss
“Hello, I’m shooting a TV show today,” the artist began her honest “GRWM“ video. “You can see how curly my hair is,” she noted before explaining that “My hair has been falling out like crazy since the surgery.” Clarifying that the video was taken two weeks prior to posting, Jessie added that she’s “feeling okay” five weeks post-op, adding that “I’ve still got quite a lot of cording, so that’s my main focus.”
Continuing on her refreshingly honest streak, she then pointed out for viewers how her breasts have changed after her mastectomy and reconstruction surgeries. “This is the implant,” she said pointing to her right breast, “still so sore,” she added. She went on to point out her “old,” surgery-free breast before backtracking to say “Aww, you’re not old.” Jessie is planning to undergo another surgery later this year, and we’re eager to hear updates about her recovery journey.
